FAKI’S BACK! Festival of Alternative Theatrical Expression – FAKI welcomes you for its 24th year, with a Festival of Face-to-Face and Online work!

Over one week 24-30 May, Artists will lead us out of the escape hatch and into…what? A Hollywood film? Another Netflix premiere? A football match with fake spectators? Or will they just abandon us, alone in the theatre, with only each other to depend on?
Faki Festival this year is a hybrid festival of performance offering Face-to-Face and Online experiences, featuring nightly livestream broadcasts from Medika’s Info Shop (ground floor) from 20.30-22.00, every night of the festival.
Attending performances is strictly limited to prevent the spread of COVID-19, and are by registration on the SCHEDULE page, or anonymously* viewable online via the festival’s online viewing platform at attack.hr/Faki24.
Join us for a week where artists are expected to challenge physical/political realities and carry us into post-pandemic worlds, where new forms of togetherness, criticality, curiosity, fun, and discovery become once again imaginable. Over the course of one week, Artists will offer face-to face and online works – go to the schedule to check it out!

***FAKI is an international gathering of artist and theatrical groups that operate outside institutionalized commercial theatres and demonstrate a high artistic reach, while encouraging young performers to create the most distinctive expressions. This very general conception practically means that FAKI is a festival of alternative theatre, street theatre, performance, off- and low-budget theatre. FAKI is a central place for an overview of innovative, critical and independent, international theatre and performance scenes, maintained by traveling artists and groups whose research on original, experimental and research models of art expression generates universal existential spectacles and performances.***
